Probe Announces Changes to the Fall 2023 College Tour

May 10, 2023 | Young Harris, GA

The Fall 2023 Georgia Probe College Tour is increasing the number of local fairs across the state, now covering 77 cities.

“The changes to the Fall 2023 Tour expand access across the state to reach more Georgia high students and their families,” said Clint Hobbs, executive director of Probe.

The fall tour includes 84 local fairs and three high school guidance counselor workshops, kicking off in Alpharetta, GA, on August 21 and ending in Waycross, Ga, on November 17.

Hobbs continued, “More than 76% of our fairs this fall will be held during the school day, mostly on high school campuses.” The move to more daytime fairs allows students access to college opportunities while at school.

Hobbs continued, “The annual Probe College Tour is the only college fair in the State that provides student access to colleges of all shapes, sizes, and missions, whether they live in the north Georgia mountains, near the Georgia-Florida border, and everywhere in between.”

Veteran enrollment manager Donna Webb is joining Probe as the new Associate Executive Director. Webb is a high school admission and recruiting veteran with over 30 years of experience at multiple Georgia colleges and universities and is a past president of the Georgia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (GACRAO).

“With Donna on board, we are working on expanding the reach of Probe to deliver high-quality college fairs to Georgia students in every corner of the state,” said Hobbs. He continued, “We will now be able to have a Probe representative at every fair to support our local volunteer hosts.”

Other tour details, include:

  • New discounted all-tour passes: Colleges interested in the All-Tour Pass will receive a $300 registration discount.
  • Counselor Workshops: High school guidance counselor workshops will be held in Atlanta, Macon, and Savannah. Workshops allow college representatives to network with high school officials and to share marketing pieces.
  • College exhibitor surveys: College exhibitors can complete a post-fair survey after every event. Survey feedback will be shared with college representatives at two “Rap Session” meetings, October 12 in Athens and November 8 in Savannah.
  • Student pre-registration: With two years of using the Ignite Capture scanning app, Probe has seen yearly increases in students pre-registering for fairs. Registered students can quickly provide information to colleges, allowing representatives to “scan” bar codes and add notes while answering student questions. Probe leadership and the scheduling committee is working with local hosts to push further increases in student fair registration.
  • Probe partners: The Probe Partners program is back for Fall 2023. College exhibitors who register share their inquiry list of Georgia high school students. All lists are combined and used for direct email messages promoting local Probe fairs.

The Fall 2023 Probe Tour schedule will be posted to the PROBE website on June 1, and Exhibitor Registration will open on July 3.
