Update | Fall Probe Virtual Tour

August 14, 2020 | Young Harris, GA

The Georgia Education Articulation Committee (GEAC) today announced the Fall 2020 Probe Tour will be conducted entirely online. This will be done in the form of two, three-day “virtual fairs” in early October and November 2020.

“With the uncertainty caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, our board worked diligently to find a solution to maintain our commitment to Georgia students in helping them evaluate their college options,” says Probe Executive Director Clint Hobbs.

The Probe Tour will be administered through StriveScan, a provider of student scanning software and a new virtual college exploration format using Zoom Webinars, a commercial conferencing solution. StriveScan will administer virtual fairs in more than 20 states this fall.

During live presentations, Georgia students and their families will be able to access a variety of college panels and presentations to evaluate their options. All presentations will be recorded, organized, and stored on YouTube. “If a student can’t make one of our Probe virtual fair sessions, they can come back to the content at any time,” says Hobbs.

Virtual fairs will be held in two phases:

Probe Virtual Fair 1 | October 5 – October 7, 2020

Probe Virtual Fair 2 | November 2, November 4 – November 5, 2020

Colleges may register to attend beginning Friday, August 21. The registration fee is $200 and includes a presentation spot during one of the two virtual fairs. A College Rep Q & A Webinar will be held on Thursday, August 20 at 1:00 p.m. EST. College representatives can register here.

Student registration will open Tuesday, September 15. There is no charge to attend. Probe welcomes students, their families, and high school professionals to attend the virtual events.
